First of all lay down your safety mats on the floor. Always choose a room that has free space. Make it sure that you have plenty of space to move in a well and smooth manner without hitting and kicking tables, walls or any other poles. Here I want to guide you a bit. I personally prefer you that outdoor practice would be more comfortable choice than indoor workouts because grass is cooler and softer than wood plus space is also less confined while you work outdoor.
However here are some tricks if you want to do exercise inside your home. First of all put a pillow on ground and place your head on it. Your head should be in between your hands. Now begin the exercise steps by tucking the knees onto the elbows. Do it for several minutes and when you are comfortable with this step, straighten your legs against a wall. Now it is something like head stand position. Use abdominal muscles to draw your legs. Once you are comfortable and relaxed with this step, move away from the wall.
Use balance beams to create balance in your movements. This is very important otherwise your neck may get serious harms and injuries while gymnastic workouts. Protect your neck all the time because in roll tucks and headstands it may get severe injuries. Moreover, don’t be nervous while carrying out any movement. Be relaxed and smooth to get maximum possible results.

The roots of the gymnastics belong to ancient Greek. The Greeks used to practice the gymnastics to make them physically fit to prepare for the war. Gymnastics were the very important part of the ancient education of the Greeks. It was mandatory for every student to learn the gymnastics. In every ancient Greek school there was a proper setup for gymnastic training, which was usually built in the open air courts. Later on when Roman Empire ascended, gymnastic turned in to more formal military training. But in 393 AD the Emperor Theodosius completely eliminated the Olympics game. Along with the other games gymnastic was also forgotten for the centuries.
In late eighteenth century two physical instructors, Johann Friedrich GutsMuth and Friedrich Ludwig Jahn started exercises for youth on different apparatus designed by them. This was advancement in the world of gymnastics that lead to today’s modern gymnastics. That is why Friedrich Jahn is known as the “father of gymnastics”. Jahn created the horizontal parallel bars, bar, balance beam, side horse with pommels, ladder, and vaulting horse. In early nineteenth century U.S Army introduced the gymnastics in their training.
In early twentieth century armed services stared publishing the manuals for gymnastic exercises. But as the modern war techniques were developed those totally changed the hand-to-hand war combat into a computerized combat of weapons, the gymnastics lost their role in the army training. But in 1986, for the first time gymnastics were introduced in Olympics. But only men were taking part in the gymnastics, although it was in a quiet different form as compared to what we see today.
